Content + Structure

Portrait

A modern workplace is now very much based on the personalisation of work, digital offices and remote working. Networks are increasingly replacing hierarchies and the empowerment of teams is gaining importance. This is changing how organisations develop and creating a whole new array of challenges. To ensure that these challenges are overcome it is vital to how people work together successfully in organisations. 

The CAS Human Centered Organization is dedicated to the following topics: 

  • Basics and methods of industrial and organisational psychology. 

  • Work 4.0. The workplace experience, factors for increased job satisfaction and motivation.  

  • Workplace Health Management 4.0 (BGM 4.0). Human wellbeing approaches to health preservation and promotion in the workplace.    

  • Working in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) worlds. Developing agile forms of organisation, work and team processes. 

  • Designing learning cultures in companies. Situational learning in companies and agile learning formats.  

Course objectives

Develop organisations with a human touch. After completing this CAS you will be able to guide organisational and corporate development in a holistic way. 

  • You will have the skills to design modern, agile organisations and companies. 

  • You will be able to create goal-oriented teams and promote successful cooperation amongst their members. 

  • You can successfully accompany personnel and team development with your newly acquired knowledge from the fields of management theory, psychology and workplace learning. 

  • You will be able to design company health and wellbeing programmes.  

Our CAS Human Centered Organization offers the following topics in four modules:

Combining attendance and self-study to promote learning. 

In this programme we place great emphasis on balancing work and family. We have therefore designed our didactics and courses to accommodate attendees’ professional and family responsibilities. In order to get the most out of each module, an individual, preparatory examination of the contents of a module is advantageous. Participants and teachers keep in contact during the self-study phases with Microsoft Teams. You are able to exchange information, clarify questions and share your work from preparation or follow-up assignments.

Our courses emphasize the practical aspects of learning, which is why you will conclude the CAS with a so-called transfer report. In this report, you will develop practical solutions for a specific problem from your workplace. The report will also be required to meet scientific and academic standards.

Lecturers

Our lecturers are proven experts with extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in their subject areas. They have at least a university degree plus many years of experience in higher education. 

Requirements + Admission

The CAS is aimed at specialists and managers with professional backgrounds in the following areas: 

  • Human Resource Management 

  • Personnel and organisational development 

  • Corporate development 

  • Innovation and change management 

  • Management consultancy 

University degree

You will be admitted to the programme with a degree from a university, university of applied sciences, university of teacher education, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, or an equivalent foreign university and at least two years of professional experience.

Higher vocational training

If you have a qualification from a higher vocational education institution (Diploma Höhere Fachschule HF, Federal Diploma, Federal Certificate of Proficiency) and several years of professional experience, you will also be admitted to the programme. However, you will be required to attend our Introduction to Academic Study before starting the CAS. Completion of this module is a prerequisite for admission to the CAS.

Exceptions

In exceptional circumstances applicants may still  be admitted. The head of the degree programme will make a decision based upon your application and extenuating circumstances. Please contact us. If you are admitted, you will in any case attend the course «Introduction to Academic Writing» (in German) before the first CAS.

Professional requirements

At least two years of professional experience in a relevant field of the CAS are required. Students studying in the EMBA Human Resource Management programme model 1 should have previously completed the CAS Human Resource Management (HR Basics and Processes).
For clarification of individual professional requirements, the head of the programme will be happy to provide personal advice.

Language skills

The language of instruction is German. To a lesser extent, English language teaching materials may be used.

For all students of our CAS programmes we offer a half-day course Effective Learning. Attendance is recommended and is free of charge for CAS students. At this event, you will learn about the practice-oriented learning style used at universities of applied science.

Organisation + Registration

The duration of the programme is 15 attendance days. Further details on dates and teaching days will follow six months before the start of the programme.
