Supplementary Information on Admission

Find out which languages and prior knowledge are required before starting your studies, what the admission requirements are for international applicants, and how students are selected.

In addition to excellent German language skills, good English language skills are important. Ideally, you should have an officially recognised certificate proving that you have at least a B2 level of English. This certificate must not be more than three years old when you commence your studies. Otherwise, you will be required to take a placement test during the introductory week. If you do not achieve the required level, we offer English modules as part of your studies to help you acquire equivalent language skills.

Persons whose native language is not German may enrol in the programme if they can demonstrate German language proficiency at level B2. Completion of level C1 in the first year of study is required and forms an essential basis for the subsequent semesters.

International applicants will require authentic and valid identification recognized by Switzerland; a visa may often be required. Successful international applicants must apply for a residence permit, and submit proof of sufficient funds. Prior to starting their studies, they will be required to obtain health insurance cover. Applicants should make sure they are fully informed about and compliant with their specific entry requirements for Switzerland.

If you do not meet the above-mentioned admission requirements but can demonstrate many years of professional experience and continuous professional development, and are at least 25 years old, you may apply for admission ‘sur dossier’. The Vice-President and the Head of Degree Programme will decide on admission on a case-by-case basis.
