The continuing education course in "Public Management and Development: agility and digitisation in transit" is designed for managers, project managers and internal and external consultants working in public administration and the non-profit sector:

Content and structure

Portrait

You will learn about agile methods and digital instruments for creating a tailor-made transformation process. Digitisation and the changing needs of internal and external stakeholders mean that new approaches need to be introduced in administrative and non-profit organisations.

On this course, you will learn how to use newly identified design options to take your organisation to a new level with agile means.

Course objectives

Graduates of this course:

  • Will be aware of concepts and drivers of digitisation and their transformative impact on organisations.
  • Will be able to apply agile methods and instruments with which they can successfully counter the effects of digital transformation on their organisation.
  • Will be able to identify design options in their organisation with which it will be possible to use agile methods to promote digital transformation.
  • Will know and be able to compare different methods of agile solution development and reflect on them in relation to their leadership and own leadership activities.
  • Digitisation and the world of work 4.0: what does this mean for management and for your organisation?
  • How can public sector organisations work qualitatively better, more effectively and efficiently through digitisation and agile methods?
  • What are the most important agile means and digital standard solutions through which 80% of the benefits of digitisation can be achieved?
  • How do you successfully implement digital transformation without risks and undesirable side effects?
  • What are currently the most important future trends in digitisation?
  • Agile methods as working principles in teams and in organisations
  • Different agile methods in comparison and practical test including presentations of visits to organisations

The transfer of practical experience is an essential element of this continuing education course. For this reason, professional teaching methods will be used to extend your acquired knowledge.

Organisational visit: by means of observation and interviews, information on the use of agile methods will be collected and summarised for selected organisations. The results of these organisational visits will additionally be presented and discussed on the last day of the course (including a review of the theory-practice transfer).

This specialist course is part of the CAS Public Management and Development course.

Lecturers

Our lecturers are proven experts with extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in their subject areas. They have at least a university degree plus many years of experience in higher education. 

Requirements and admission

This CAS course is designed for managers, project managers and internal and external consultants working in the public sector and the social, educational and health sectors.

You do not need to meet any specific admission requirements to participate in this specialist course. If you would like your completion of this specialist course to be credited towards the CAS Public Management and Development course, the general requirements for admission to university-level continuing education will apply.

You have 3 years from attending the first day of the first specialised course to complete the CAS.
