Nociceptive sensitisation
Changes in the peripheral nociceptive nervous system and the brain (sensitisation) are considered mechanisms responsible for the development of chronic pain. We research clinical measurement methods that allow us to differentiate the sensitisation of various nociceptive neurons and brain regions, and develop protocols for clinical practice.
We use the Bern Movement Lab and the Bern Pain & Stress Lab infrastructure for our research.
